MediaUriElement - Could not render any streams from the source Uri

Dec 27, 2011 at 9:01 PM

I'm attempting to build an mp3 streaming application using a third party API.

I discovered WPF MediaKit and the MediaUriElement.  I love the ability to see Duration and Position with this control.  It's working great except for about 10% of the songs in the API.

For the songs that don't work, I see an exception in the MediaFailed event with exception details of: "Could not render any streams from the source Uri".
I can download the mp3 from that URL, and windows media player will play it fine.  I'm wondering if it is a codec issue with the MediaUriElement?

Can anyone help me figure this out?  I'm at a loss as to where to even start looking...  :(

The media in question can be found at:

I just tried loading this song not from a remote server, but from disk and I get the same error.

Any ideas?
